The LCC is not considered an award but is very important in the education of DeMolay members, Advisors, parents and anyone wanting to learn more about the Order of DeMolay.
The five lessons can be obtained through the Jurisdiction of Oregon DeMolay Office for a nominal fee. The courses are a combination of true-false and multiple choice questions. As each lesson is completed, the answer sheet is returned to the Executive Officers Awards Director for grading. If a passing grade of 80% or better is achieved, an enrollment form for the next lesson will be sent to you. If the grade is less than 80%, the lesson will be returned for corrections.
Upon completion of the course, a certificate is issued to the individual who successfully completes the course. DeMolays are also eligible for the Correspondence Course Merit Bars. Upon completion of all five lessons, the "Lamp of Knowledge" pin will be awarded.
Oregon DeMolay encourages not only members to complete these lessons, but also parents, advisors and anyone interested in learning more about DeMolay.
