The Leadership Correspondence Course series is designed to lead DeMolays, Advisors, Sweethearts and other interested friends through a program of research and study to learn about the organization and its history.

The courses are a combination of true-false and multiple choice questions which can be answered using the DeMolay Leaders Resource Guide, the Rules and Regulations of DeMolay International, the By-Laws of the International Supreme Council,  the book "Hi, Dad" which is a biography of Frank S. Land, and the book "The Life and Times of Jacques DeMolay."  All new members automatically receive the Leaders Resource Guide from DeMolay International when they join and their membership is registered.  The other publications are available for check out from most chapters, or for purchase along with Leaders Resource Guides from the Oregon DeMolay office or DeMolay International. 

As each lesson is completed, the answer sheet is submitted electronically or returned to the State Office for grading.  Note:  A passing grade of 80% or better is required for each lesson.  If the grade is less than 80%, the lesson will be returned for corrections.

There is a fee of $4 per lesson collected on successful completion in order to receive a completion certificate and to be eligible to complete the next lesson.  The first lesson is free to new members.  All participants receive the Lamp of Knowledge pin on completion of the fifth and final lesson.  Members receive a different color merit bar for each lesson.

For each lesson:

1.  Download and print the lesson.

2.  Complete the lesson using the required resource materials.  This can be done independently or in study groups.  If working with a group, be sure YOU benefit by looking up all the answers for yourself and/or discussing each answer to ensure you understand it thoroughly and where it came from. 

3.  Mail or fax completed Answer Sheets to the Oregon DeMolay office,

Use the Online Self-Grading Answer Sheet, after having first downloaded and printed the Lesson to complete it.  Use the links below and carefully input and submit the answers online for an immediate evaluation and automatic e-mail notification to the Office and confirmation to you!

Note:  At present, no pre-registration is required for submitting an Online Self-Grading Answer Sheet.  Our LCC in-box is monitored by volunteers.  Please do not clog the LCC in-box with invalid answer sheets so we can keep it open to anyone to use at his or her convenience without the delay of pre-registration.  Refer questions to dod@oregondemolay.org .  Thank you!
